So we're halfway through November and I thought I'd do a quick round up of my visits and earnings. Since Google indexed my site properly last week the visitors and subsequently income earned has shot up. I've still got a lot of work to do before the site is finished (yes that may not be what an AIS is for but why build 20 sites when 1 can earn the same amount?).nnSo for the first 15 days of November:nAdsense: $32.97nAmazon: £1.40 (2 orders)nVisitors: 900 (unique) 1114 (total)nnGoogle has topped the search engines with visitors from Google at 800.nnI've got a lot of plans, I only think this can improve at the moment.

why build 20 sites when 1 can earn the same amountnnWhat happens if that one site gets removed from it's SERPS (or get a page 100 listing or somesuch) ?nnMy advice is never keep all your eggs in one basket. I brought this up at "mix of AIS income" in my blog…nnIf you do go down the route of one site, be prepared for a drop-off to zero at some point – by making more [good] sites you reduce that risk substantially.nnThoughts ?

Ahh because I meant the comparison of 1 site compared to 20. I already have a few sites in my adsense account and have a few others to build. But if I can get my click payouts up then 1 site is worth more than 20. I understand what you mean about being dropped, but businesses risk that daily.nnInstead of having a typical directory portal style site I've changed the whole layout code (well slowly changing it all), given it content and am constantly adding to it. Yes it probably will drop down the rankings as most sites do after their fleeting high, but using my SEO knowledge I hope to prevent that.nnIt's a challenge. I'm not interested in churning out site after site that makes 1c per click. I'm interested in making a site that makes 25c a click and more :) AIS is just a bit of fun to me. Put my SEO knowledge into practice and learn more as I go along. I prefer to work and i get more enjoyment from that.

25c a click ? Is that all ;) nnYou're right not to churn out crappy sites, these type of sites do need much more work on them to be a viable (ie, long term) source of income.nnWell, keep us updated on the progress – it'll be interesting to see the difference that your approach makes…

well i've checked what money is being paid into the adverts on adwords too (handy when you know how) and to be fair there's not much chance of even making that on this subject. I never looked at a high paying subject I just looked at an ignored domain name. I'm happy with what it's achieved considering. As i mentioned yesterday, besides templates (which I'll be pushing more to the forefront when I have a chance) there are only 2 products I can sell as an affiliate. I don't use the software any more so there's no chance of writing an eBook.nnThe next site, that is still being sorted out, will be the killer I hope. Several products to sell directly, a 20% commission on sales, and a niche market. Providing my SEO works, I could be upping my bandwidth in my account for it!nnThe target was to make back some money for Dave's and my Dublin trip in 2 weeks tomorrow. £125 each. I can't see it all happening but I've got until the credit card comes in at the start of January!!

Good stuff – looking forward to seeing your new site!nnAnother thing to bear in mind is the high paying keywords (example: mesotheliema) are saturated with people building sites to target it. Even the best SEO work in the world would not compete with the Black Hat techniques used on such sites.nnBy targetting "normal" users, you've already done well – the key is not high paying keywords, but getting a good, constant flow of traffic…if you can get both [good KW + traffic] on a site, then you are quids in!
