So now that I've syndicated all four of my blogs into one page at http://www.sarahfreelance.co.uk, I've now also created the RSS feed for all of these, so that if you want to subscribe to the feed for all 4 you can do with one single file at http://www.sarahfreelance.co.uk/feed.php.

The only issue I've got is that when you view the RSS feed in a browser it doesn't display like RSS feeds usually do. But it does work as I've tested it. If anyone can shed any light on the RSS display issue I'd appreciate it :)

    Matt earlier badly tried to point out that I'd forgotten to add the feed as an alternate link in the header for this, so I've done that now (and removed his half empty comments!).

    Cheers mate, it's there now ;)

    Yeah Im useless!

    Thanks to Khalid for giving me the solution to fix my feed properly… Just had to add in

    <?php header('Content-type: application/xml'); ?>

    Sarah, if they're all combined, when someone clicks on a feed content what site do they link back to?

  • Sarah Comments:

    The feed is created dynamically from a small db table that collates my rss feeds from the 4 different blogs. The links are the permalinks to each post on each blog ie. one link may go to my personal blog and another to my AIS blog. The front page isn't fancy purely because it just pulls all the blogs into one place, showing the excerpts to prevent too much dupe content going on but there is an option to click to permanently view all full posts. It's more just for anyone who wants to read all 4 in one go. The feed displays full posts too, and each is linked to the post on its corresponding blog.

    Of course that's what it's meant to do. If you know something else let me know ;)

    I'm combining 2 of your feeds into my feed reader on the website. Now I know what you've done I can trim it down to just one!

  • Sarah Comments:

    Ah ha, well the feed is for you then. I know I can write about a lot of stuff hence the split, but then I also realised there were maybe a few people who just wanted to read it all thus the amalgamation too :D

    Yes one feed, all links intact. Let me know if you have any problems with it, but it should be fine :)
