RIP Router

I had a call off my Mum on Tuesday saying all of the lights on the ADSL router had gone out. This is a router I bought back in 2003 when I first had ADSL installed when I lived at home. The power supply wasn't putting out any power and now it appears there's been some bubbling above the power input on the router itself, so I can only presume it's overheated in this weather as it's already on a surge protector.
So I've been shopping for a new router and I have to say that Amazon seems to offer very reasonable prices on the electronic equipment. I originally paid £140 for the modem router that's just died, and now I've just ordered a Linksys ADSL2+ Modem Router (Wireless) for just £50. We already have a Linksys ADSL Modem up here in Cheshire, and have had no problems with it whatsoever, and my linksys wireless card has been fantastic since I bought it last year too, so hopefully, despite a few customer reviews, it should be fine. Personally I've learnt to ignore customer reviews on this type of stuff as most of the time the customer just doesn't have a clue.
However, bless her, my Mum's going to have to configure and set this up herself, with me on the telephone telling her what to do! Now I've just got to go dig out my login details for Nildram… wherever they may be!

Ive never liked Linksys personsally, Belkin do it for me, but then saying that Ive never heard anything *that* bad and the one ive set up myself recently seemed to work first time with a auto setup download of the linksys website.
