Picking, digging and cutting! Last night I picked a whole box of blackberries from the wild brambles that grow over the hedge. Apparently on the early front too, even my Dad was suprised that they were ready to pick! (My Dad being the king of blackberry pickers!!) Then this morning I dug up two potato plants and cut up four little gem lettuces. We got about 12-15 potatoes, probably around 10 mid size potatoes and a few small ones.

I'm definitely enjoying my first summer of real gardening. When I was younger I remember growing little things in my Dad's garden, as did my brother, but this is the first year that I've really grown real food that we could eat. Now that I've dug the largest potato plant up, I've dug the ground over and it's ready for the next batch of lettuces to be planted when they're ready. I planted up about 15 last weekend, and they're already showing through in the small seed tray, so hopefully in another week or two they should be ready to go into the ground.

We also have peppers starting to show too!

I'm honestly fed up of driving. My car's not overly happy with slight suspension problems, however I can't be buying another just yet unfortunately. Plus it's just the time taken out of the day to travel. Last weekend was annoying as we drop 6 hours for a 25 minute meeting, for a site that won't be paying much! 6 hours for 2 of us equals 12 hours of lost working time which equals a lot of cash if you charge for those hours! An entire day lost to travel.

Still there's always next time :)

Wow, the Dancing Coke Can brings back some memories. Gotta love the 80's ;-)

I wasn't allowed to bring my dancing flower home with me. But the can got smuggled in ;)
