Week Catch Up

It's been a bit of a busy week this week. It started great on Monday, then around 10am I had an email off someone telling me they couldn't get the work done that I needed in time for the end of the month. A bit of a let down as it means I need to sort it out now as I just don't have the time to prep anyone else on it. We have a large Joomla run web site which we're finishing off, which this other work bolts onto, and so I've also had to get a clean upload of that online onto a test domain and get it set up and fix all the little errors and issues that seems to creep in, along with trying to hack Joomla to fit the design we have (unfortunately from a set of print designers who know nothing about web sites!). So it's been a bit of a nightmare and certainly has made me realise that I don't want to take on a site of this scale again.

Anyhow, inbetween all my stress, Wednesday was the anniversay of Dave and I being together :) So we decided to take a drive out to Parkgate, on the Wirral (looks over the river Dee to North Wales) and try a fish restaurant we'd seen there before. We often go out for dinner but go to the big chains such as Frankie & Benny's, and Chiquitos, and to be honest I'm tired with those places. So we went to a small independent restaurant, and I have to say we had one of the best meals we've had since Lanzarote!

The Lobster Grill is a steak and seafood restaurant. On the menu they have fish dishes such as Lobster, Halibut, Tuna, Salmon, Swordfish, Scampi and Cod. The 'Seaman's Catch' was a 6oz Tuna steak, 6oz Swordfish steak and 6oz Salmon steak! that's 18ozs of fish steak! They also have steaks, lamb, pork, chicken and burgers, and also Fajitas! But going there you have to have the fish. It's cook so perfectly. I opted for Lobster Thermidor and Dave had a Swordfish steak, and his steak was cooked so great it was gorgeous. My Lobster was exceptionally good as well. The price of a 3 course meal plus coffees came to just over £50, not bad considering my starter and main meal was £19 total (yes Lobster was just £14 including a large salad and chips). Plus we were seated at the front of the restaurant overlooking the horizon which of course meant I got to watch the sunset which came through the clouds in time for me to see and grab a couple of photos (I'll upload tomorrow). All in all a perfect evening.

Otherwise that's been the event of the week as we've pretty much stayed in and worked solidly most of the week. We're off to Stilton, near Peterborough today, for a BBQ at my Aunt's. A long way to go yes, but my family will all be there including my parents, and a friend has kindly offered to put us up for the night, considering we would be passing his place within about 20m to get there! So hopefully the weather will stay good for the trip over and the day.
