(For anyone who doesn't know the program, the Good Life was from the 70's and featured a couple of people who tried to be self sufficient with their growing veg, fruit and rearing animals).

Our Garden's going pretty well despite the bad weather. At present the only thing not happy are the lettuces, but to be honest with the weather and temperature as it is, I'm not really in the mood for lettuce anyhow! We've started picking tomatoes off what will be a very large crop. I'll have to get the Passatta recipe/method off my Dad so that we don't waste them. I've also been picking a couple of small boxes of raspberries each week which are now going into the freezer. I can already taste the raspberry and apple pies I intend to make come winter time!

I finally plucked my first home grown Pepper on the weekend as well. It was the black one (which is actually a very dark purple). I've got a couple of photos which I'll upload from my other machine (no infrared on this one!). How did it taste? Well I decided to do roasted Sea Bass and stuffed roast peppers for dinner on the weekend, however the pepper was too strong a taste for me. If you think of the strength or sweetness scale of peppers as Green, Red, Yellow, then the Black one comes before the Green pepper. It was quite a strong taste that I didn't like at all. However we have about another 10 green peppers on the go on a couple of other plants so hopefully they'll be appreciated more.

Oh and we have two diddy cantaloupe melons growing now as well! We just need some sun and warmth in the air as I think my plants have been watered enough!
