[...] After all of our ADSL issues we're still down in Buckinghamshire staying with my parents (bless 'em). When I first heard of the show I thought naively assumed that we'd have been back home in Cheshire by now, however the way things are going we'll still be here for the week, which means just over an hour from Olympia by car and tube. Plus my Mum would be quite happy to go nosing around too! However the one idea that slightly puts me off is the let down that I won't be able to see my favourite chef of the moment, Gordon Ramsey, at work as his shows look to have sold out and he's only there on Sunday anyhow, and we would go up on Friday. However of course it wouldn't be a massive let down and the show would still be worth going to. It's quite a dilemma to be honest as we've spoken of just going home on Wednesday after our meeting and suffer a week of no ADSL (ie. a week off and digging up the garden in time for winter!), and considering we've not been home in 5 weeks the idea is very tempting, but at the same time, staying for a couple of extra days and going home on the weekend wouldn't be so bad (you can tell I'm talking myself into this!). Ahhh gotcha, however it's not his business I think he just did the design for it and knows the owner

It was actually recommended to me by Khalid who also knows the owner and uses it himself.

[...] The sequel to ADSL Woes has already begun!! I have had such a **** day of phone calls. This morning I was given our Mac code for moving our Broadband to another supplier. All seemed fine, called the new company (I like a company that answers within 2 rings!) and set the ball in motion. Then a couple of hours later they called me back saying there was a problem with the code and it was one of three things 1. The code was invalid 2. The code had already been given to another BB company 3. The old ISP (UK Online) had begun cancellation proceedings on the line. [...]

Well we've just ordered our new broadband package. The previous supplier was UK Online. Yep the service has been absolutely ridiculous and even after cancelling we've still had problems. We were told we'd have the Mac code emailed to us 48 hours after the request (Thursday 26th), so this morning I've spent just over 53 minutes on the phone to get the code as it never arrived.

A call to Fast.co.uk, within a couple of rings the phone was answered – it's like a breath of fresh air! Hopefully in 7 days time we'll have ADSL back home and we can finally go home!!!

So if you cancel they won't bother repairing what is a fault? That is absolutely abysmal business practice. Good riddance to your isp.

I'll name the ISP once we have our Mac code I've never suffered such ridiculous customer support, and to be treated the way we have.
