As obvious as it sounds I still fall foul of the simple rule of checking a site or page after an upgrade. Be it a code upgrade, site upgrade or template upgrade. Since I changed to a new template on one of my blogs back in November, the adsense clicks I was getting dropped considerably from a few a day to a few a month. The position of the ad units hadn't changed, nor had the sizes. I'd figured that it was just a coincidence and put it down to ad blindness or people blocking ads as my visitor stats on the server didn't tally up with the page impressions given by Google.nnHowever yesterday I was looking over the site and checked on the stats. Looking at the most viewed pages I noticed the Category and some of the monthly archive pages were quite popular after the front page. Viewing these myself I noticed there were no ads displaying. I think this was down to the template I have has different filenames to the norm (ie. Archive) and so it didn't occur to me to update the files when I added the code to the front page and single post page. Of course when I post I tend to check the post and that's it, so visiting the monthly archive or category pages is not something I tend to do hence the possibly major oversight. The code's added in now so considering the visitors have stayed steady with a few busier days hopefully I may start to see an increase in clicks and thus income.nnI'll be ensuring I check every inch of a site in the future after an upgrade!

Since making the changes and getting AdSense back into my internal pages my clicks have increased. Not dramatically but it's a major improvement over recent months!
