FeedBurner's Offerings

I've been playing recently with FeedBurner and finally got the feeds on this web site set up through them, something I'd been intending to do for some time. FeedBurner now has a plugin for WordPress (it didn't last time I'd added a feed) which makes it so much easier to set up redirection on your existing feeds. Before now I had to set up 301s in my htaccess, inevitably getting something wrong and messing up the feed for a while until I realised and fixed it! Now you just activate the plugin, tell it what the feed addresses are and away you go (after removing your 301s for your other blog on the same domain!).nnI've also been noticing a nice little footer on each post from various blogs that I read in my feedreader, the footer containing information such as how many comments had been made, along with links to bookmark the post on delicious and other various social networking sites. I've spent some time searching for what I presumed was a WordPress plugin, and couldn't find it anywhere, but after asking Adnan as he has it on his posts, he informed me that it was part of FeedBurner called the FeedFlare.nnSo, after finding it under the Optimize tab for a particular feed, and then clicking on FeedFlare, I've now added a few extras to each post. The best option is, of course, the comment count. I tend to subscribe to comments too if I can, however only on my really favourite blogs, but I know very few people do this, so hopefully the comment count will give feedreader users a better idea of what's going on with each post and perhaps make them realise there's more to read than just the post ;)
