Lighthouse, New Brighton I'll admit, I love sunsets, absolutely adore them. Growing up, in both the UK and Germany (military based), I was inland. I know you can get sunsets regardless of where you are but lets face it, they're never as good without a decent mountain or setting over the sea.

Where I live now is about 20 minutes drive from the coast, so with the sun finally hitting the UK we headed up to New Brighton, a coastal town at the tip of the Wirral Peninsula. We got there in perfect time. The sun was still above the sea and still had a nice brightness to it. In all I took around 34 photos. I really wanted to get some good silhouette shots but besides the walkway, my attempts weren't 100% great. The best foreground silhouettes there were a lighthouse and an old castle. I tried the lighthouse (as you can see in the thumbnail) but on the large res version you can still see the whiteness of the lighthouse a little.

However I'm having fun learning! Any of the blueish photos were taken with a dusk/dawn setting and the others with the sunset/sunrise setting. I find some are better with one and some are better with the other.

Anyhow, more photos can be found at Flickr.

Nice picture! I just love the hues in the sky: dusty pink, blue, a bit of yellowish; and the combination between the peaceful nature and the imposing lighthouse. I love both sunrises and sunsets!
