Italy Here I Come!

A perfect start to the new year – in just 3 weeks we'll be in Rome, Italy, for 8 nights holiday. For those who aren't aware, we were planning a 2 – 3 week holiday last year however having to move house instead, used up all of our savings. However, we're both in need of a break away and as we can fly to Rome from Liverpool airport, which is about 25 minute drive away, we decided to check on some flights and a decent, but not too expensive hotel, and then the credit card came out!

We've got a pretty good deal as far as I'm concerned. The flights, on Ryan Air, came to just 1p each way before charges. Total charges including check in and baggage fees, brought it to £70 for both of us. £35 ain't bad for a return flight to Rome! We can drive to the airport in about 20-25 minutes, and the parking is right at the front door. Get Parking is where I booked the airport parking for just £38 for 9 days. Sure, we could have taken the bus but it's much less hassle with a car! Plus it'll probably be safer in the airport carpark than at home without us there to check on it! Then I headed over to Expedia to find a hotel. We've managed to get a 4 star hotel with high speed internet access (just in case) and a buffet breakfast for just £44 for the two of us, again a pretty good deal especially with breakfast included. Plus the hotel is right by Vatican city so we won't have far to go each day to hit the city :)

So we've got just 3 weeks to wait, 3 weeks for me to get more used to my new camera, and I guess I should make sure there's no work lingering ;) Also I hope to try and take some time to get my travel site finished off and set live so that my holiday posts can go there.

21 days to go… ;)
