December Earnings
Wed, 2 January, 2008 – 12:24 am
A lot of people say it's hard not to make money during the build up to Christmas however it all depends on the subject of your sites. Next year I hope to have finished a site that will be perfect for Christmas, especially with so many people shopping online for their presents these days. However, December wasn't all that bad. Advertising income increased which supplemented the big mistake I'd made on one of our other sites after a server move, the site collapsed under PHP errors. Unfortunately I didn't discover this for about 2-3 weeks due to trying to sort out moving house as well, so the site has dropped off the search engine's rankings. Let's hope it starts to pick up again now it's fixed.nnHowever affiliate earnings picked up thanks to Christmas presents being bought via Amazon, plus a few direct links had purchases made through them which made us 7.5% payout.nnSo in total we made just over $200 which is a slight increase on last month but not back to where it should be yet. However all things considered, I'm quite happy with that. Now things are starting to settle down at home things should get back to normal with a reduced workload for business too. This should give me time to concentrate on getting a few more AIS sites up and running, others cleaned up and improved on, hopefully crack that $500 mark at some point this year
nnHappy New Year and let's hope 2008 is more profitable than 2007

it certainly depends on the site topics. My product sites really shined in december and brought in some nice earnings.

Well 45n5 is right, the earnings of a website mainly depend from niche to niche and from the art of the blogger how he/she pre-sells the products. But gifts should be working well on all holidays
