Sarah, great post, there is a lot of gems stuffed in this article. making real money online does seem to stem from having your own product and building from there into membership sites, etc. Great job on this post.

Dave, cheers for the additional input.nnGary, see now I would say software is easy and a pack of articles is complex ;) But you're right, everyone has something they can offer up as a product. Sometimes it's just realising what you have or know and what you can sell.

I'll echo everything that Sarah has said in this post. Selling your own products is the best way to make money online.nnIf anyone reading this post believes they cannot make a product, I'd suggest that a reality check is needed. A product can be as simple as a packet of articles or as complex as a piece of software. Everyone has at least a packet of articles in them, I'd suggest.

Some good tips here, Sarah. let me throw something your way ... or the way of anyone else interested in the teaching/tutoring product idea.nnAn old, pre-'net method of finding a successful buisness to try has been to see what people were paying to advertise over the years and thus, since they must be making money, emulate, expand on, etc.nnHere's a company (this is not an affiliate link and I have no interest in them) who has been advertising on TV (Discovery Channel Asia and the ABC) no less for more than a year now. TV ads cost real money, their services are simple and reasonably priced, so there must be a lot of scope in tutoring kids. A thought.nhttp://www.teachertom.com/n(and since 90% of the world does not speak their brand of Strine-lish, opportunities away from Australia abound ;-) )
