We've spent all week being forecast rain yet not had a drop, the woke up today and there was a minor coverage of snow around! We had about enough for a snowball, but the sun had already melted most of it away. I did get a photo from my mum showing me my Dad's snowman he'd built (kids eh!). We're due more snow tomorrow, but I've given up believing the weather forecast!
I spent a lot of this week upgrading sites to the new version of WordPress. I've not suffered any problems with the upgrade, which is good. I just need to write a little cheat sheet for clients who use WordPress to update their sites, else they'll most likely panic when they realise things aren't in their usual place! It's not been too bad a week otherwise. End of the tax year is in (5th April), and both turnover and profit is on the up, which is always good news. Turnover increased by 10%, profit about 5%. This new tax year is going to see some changes too. Dave and I are going into a business partnership and forming an LLP (Limited Liability Partnership) for the end of the month. This means one new business name for both of us, and plenty of admin work to deal with this month to get everything ready for 1st May.
I finally got some seeds sown this week, a bit of salad and some Jalapeno plants. We won't have much space for growing salad but I figured I can still grow a little myself and just supplement what we don't get enough of with shop bought food. Friday however saw the demolition of my greenhouse (okay, not quite demolished but it wasn't good!), thanks to a branch cut off the neighbour's tree by a contractor. I was reimbursed for it so this morning I popped to the local DIY store and picked up a new, bigger one! Thankfully the seeds had survived the falling branch, but whether they've survived the snow from last night, I don't know. We'll see if much comes through else I'll have to start again.
This week also saw the start of a new partnership with a friend and fellow developer, to sell commercial WordPress plugins. I've written a couple for him and a few for my own use, and after a bit of a chat we agreed to set up a site to sell a couple of licenses for use along with a subscription to upgrades. These are plugins targeted at commercial sites, we may offer a not for profit license on request, we're still working the details on this one. However we have a great domain name, so just need to set up the site. I'll no doubt go into more information on my AIS blog at some point this week
Yesterday Dave and I went to meet up with a few people from our local Flickr group – Wirral. We met at a pub (where else?!), grabbed some lunch and a couple of drinks, then headed down to Ness Gardens for a few hours of ambling around, taking a few photos and having a good chat with everyone. It was nice to meet everyone, and considering the weather had been forecast rain all week, it held for the day and we had some great sunshine. Ness Gardens was beautiful too, a massive set of grounds with some gorgeous colour flowers. Of course there are plenty to come through the year so Dave and I will probably join for the year so that we can return and see more as they come into bloom.
After we finished there we dropped one of the group members home in West Kirby, and then grabbed some dinner at Kuki's, a mediterranean restaurant. Unfortunately we didn't have time to wait for the Paella to be cooked, but the meals we had were very good. Will definitely be returning there! After this we went down to the beach and I grabbed a few sunset shots, before we headed home. What a great day!

A head's up – just tried to comment on your greenhouse post and got a 410 error:
