Time for Reflection

This will probably be the last post of the year. I know there’s two weeks left still but there’s so much going on in my life that I doubt I’ll get a chance after today!

It’s been a mad rollercoaster of a year from setting up as a limited company, getting engaged, losing a good friend, moving to a much better house, the birth of my nephew, getting married, making new friends, and now preparing for Christmas in our new home. So many highs but one major low.

I’ve also been a bit lost as to how to proceed with this site. It’s gone through quite a few ideas and changes of subject content, from a personal blog with tech posts, to a business and tech blog, back to personal and tech with a bit of business and money making thrown in. My posting has slowed down a lot, at first due to writing twice a week for Blogging Tips, but I took a leave of writing for there over 6 months ago.

I feel like I’ve exhausted the subject of WordPress from the technical point of view, but maybe not from real world example point of view. A lot of what I write on WordPress and PHP could easily be found on hundreds of other blogs and sites. Plus I’ve not been keeping up with other blogs, my feedreader wonders who I am if I ever go there!

So over Christmas I need to work out what to do. I’m not going to drop the site but I need to get some focus back, possibly get my new design implemented (it’s on paper, that’s about it!) and kick start blogging again. I think it’ll start to cover a broader range of topics, and as my photo blog just gets no attention from me at all, I’ll probably bring my photo posts back here too.

Got lots to work out for the new year! There’s a few things I can’t really go into just now but January and the rest of 2010 is looking good 🙂 Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and have a happy new year 🙂

    Hey Sarah,

How about changing the format a bit and using video here and there? Just my two cents.

Nice to see you back and blogging and I am very happy that in the new year, I can see much more. I wish you a merry Christmas and send you my best wishes for a very happy new year too.

  3. Everyone has to have a moment to relax or vacation. It refreshes the spirit and make the day-by-day easier.

    Enjoy it!

Sarah – Isn’t it amazing how life can change your blog? I’ve been going through the same thing albeit without the business aspect and now my writing seems to be almost on a permanent hiatus or at least postponed until further notice. Our situations are different of course (surgery, disabilities and all that) but I just wish I could get my blogging self back in gear.

Perhaps a good swift kick in the pants might help me out?

Anyway, many happy returns and congratulations on your marriage. I’m sure you’ll get back into the swing of things. It’s not like the site is going to go trotting off without you. 😉

  5. Hey Sarah!

I’ve only known you a brief time and through Twitter, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned about you it’s that you’re not only hugely talented in your sphere of influence, but you’re also giving.

Those two things in tandem will ensure you have a very successful and prosperous 20(perfect)10.

All the best from the other side of the Mersey!

Thanks all for the comments. Christmas was intended to be a two week holiday, time to get a few things done and just have a decent break, instead we spent half of it ill thanks to catching a bug off someone!

I’m just getting back into a proper routine for both work and my daily life, so once that’s sorted out the next job is this site. I’ll be back soon 🙂

I’m currently working on a new series of blog posts in between work. It’s been a busy year so far and unfortunately work and a bit of personal life comes first 🙂 I’ll hopefully get something online soon.

  14. Hi sarah. I hope you’ll have a great things to do in 2010 since now you are married. Live as a wife is not as simple as a single person.
