Article Writing

I decided a couple of months ago to get back into creating possible AIS sites that I should aim for a couple of subjects that I knew about. So the first one is/was on Skiing. I'm still writing up the articles and have just relied on the WordPress ping to get it indexed, which it has (not bad as Google's still a bit sick) plus there's been no marketing yet but I've had 58 unique visitors! So point 1, using something such as WordPress to run a site can work quite well!
Anyhow, the other night when I was writing out another post on what was intended to be a beginner's guide to the basic equipment (skis, boots and poles), I wrote an essay just on boots, how to choose the right boots, knowing if they're comfortable etc. I know I can type a lot when I get carried away, of course this is great in this instance as my site is getting filled with long content posts which I also know are pretty informative as I am literally just writing about what I spent 3 winter seasons doing! Of course I've run a check on the higher searched for keyphrases and am integrating those into the posts that I'm writing. But my point is, it's so easy to write when you know the subject. If only I'd realised this for my GCSE English!
The next step will be to modify these articles and then choose the best version for my site and submit the other to some article sites to try and get some links coming in. Unfortunately work (as always) is still dragging on plus another two meetings in London today secured a further £3k+ of work which I can't afford to say no to at present. But towards the end of the week I'm going to start making myself write at least one post a night until the site has a fair bit of content to then get some links to and opinions on.
Perhaps a 'how to ski' eBook is on the cards next!

If you'd seen me at Runcorn, I could have appeared in the "what happens when you fall over a lot" chapter!

If you're writing really long articles, why not split them into parts 1,2,3 etc…that way you'll get more longevity from them and more return visitors

Well I was going for one post on skis, poles and boots, but realised the boots part of the post that I started with was long enough on its own so essentially skis and poles will be in part 2.
However these are only posts more for the beginner. I'll go into my technical stuff later for when the beginner has done 2-3 weeks skiing and is then thinking about getting their own boots!
At the moment I just want about 20 pages of content and then I'll start linking to it, that way I'll still have plenty of posts to write to hopefully get more people to return.
