Apologies

Things have been pretty quite around here of late. To be honest things seem pretty quiet across a lot of the blogs I read, with just one or two keeping the constant posts going. Not sure if it's the same for anyone else but I've just been shattered since Christmas. By the time 6pm comes I try to stop work, cook dinner and chill out for the evening, and blogging and AIS work just hasn't been on my mind. Well it's been on my mind but unfortunately that isn't connected directly to the web!nnI have been managing to do a little planning and research on a new site I'm hoping to set live this month. The main site will take a while to really set up how I want it but the first stage of it shouldn't take too long. The site will be affiliate based so there should be no hassle with any customers and simply once it's set up it will just have stats analysis on it for a while to tweak it and then hopefully it will be a 99% AIS site.nnI also decided to do a little experimenting with Text Link Ads, well half an experiment and half hoping to make money! I wanted to see what would affect the price TLA set on your site. Advert placement would be one factor and of course I realise that PR and Alexa ranking are factors but how much? After looking through various sites on offer I could see PR5 sites but with exceptionally low alexa rankings with Ads going for over $100 each. So we've already had a PR4 site sell ad links for $15 a shot (that's full price not our earnings) which was for a one page link. So I decided to submit my first PR5 site, one page, 6 spots. At first look the price for this has been put at $35 a shot which is higher than any of my other sites, even the site wide link ones. I realise the Alexa ranking on this PR5 site is reasonably okay and higher than the other sites but I was quite suprised by the value of the links. I'd definitely be happy if I get to fill all 6 slots that's for sure! I'm also hoping to see if the Alexa rank improves how much the price will change. I'll be keeping a close eye on it for now.

  2. It does seem very quiet at the moment on a lot of blogs I read.nnI wonder whether people are getting bored of making not very much money each month, or if like you it's just because January is a hard time to get motivated?

  3. I don't think it's boredom through income amounts (well it's not from my point of view). December can be a nightmare month for some people, perhaps January is the calm down and chill out month?nnAfter next week I'm gonna have a lot more time on my hands so I'm hoping to spend one full day a week working on AIS stuff.

  4. I've not been posting much because I'm super busy :) Did you get the free invite I sent you?nnI've had good luck with TLA on jccommerce (PR5, abysmal Alexa rating)- the few text links I have pay for the entire server that jccommerce sits on, so I think its a fair trade and most definitely worth it.
