March's Income
April 4, 2007 – 6:15 pm
March wasn't too bad considering I've just been working on existing sites, sprucing those up. The income wasn't as great as February's but then again I've not sold any templates this month (despite having a lot of interest, unfortunately from people who don't have a clue about the software!). Total income was just over $175 which is above my average of $150 so I'm quite happy with that. Sold several eBooks of one of my sites where I get a 33% cut. I just need another good sale on that and I can get a payout.
My own adsense seems to have improved too. Not sure why as it's on my main blog which besides a design change, hasn't had the ad placement changed. They're only on internal post pages (I figured any regulars wouldn't go in there unless they want to comment), ideally to draw in clicks from visitors coming from searches or just passing visitors from another site. Still, can't complain as it's getting some well paid clicks.
Plans for April? Honestly I'd like to take some time off. Work's been very hectic, I've been working on 5 web sites for my contract job over the last 10 days, and 1 is now live, 2 going live tomorrow and 2 others have final tweaks. It's been a long 10 days! However, I'll continue cleaning up the site I'm currently working on in between my gardening ![]()
At least the sun's out ![]()
Update: It's actually around $190. I forgot to check on some sites!

Hope you are enjoying that sun and the garden! I'm just about to have my first tinker with adsense… and of course my first point of reference was you

Thanks, i may just do that. Reccomended reading would be good
You should write a "beginners guide"
Just been playing with amazon affiliates too, found a very *interesting* way to get around the iframes problem here but it seems a bit hefty to me, besides the amazon animated .gifs just scream "spam" to me, we'll probably settle for the text based links and some astores

Haha, I am by no means an expert at all. As for recommended reading, the AIS blogs on my links on the right are a good place to start. I'll dig out some other links from my bookmarks for you too.
I don't tend to use the iframes option with Amazon ie. the enhanced version, but use the basic version that simply uses standard links. Simply because Norton's used to block the amazon iframes and you can set other software to block them too.
Have you looked at Text Link Ads too? That doesn't rely on clicks and could be a good source as well. Again, link on the right under the Affiliate Schemes

Text Link Ads does look good, shame they don't do EFT… are they ok to use on the same page as adsense?

Well you don't lose charges through PayPal, and you get paid monthly regardless of earnings (well lowest I've had was $2). And yes you can use them on the same page as adsense
