Sidebar Addition
Tue, 5 June, 2007 – 5:56 pm
Those who visit this site (as opposed to using a feed reader) may notice a new addition on my sidebar called 'Holiday Fund'. Because AIS sites are not my primary job, and I don't have a lot of time to devote to them these days, we don't earn a full time wage or anything. Every site that earns money was only set up in the past 2 years or so. So all the earnings we do make go into a savings account. This year we decided to use this to pay for our trip to Italy which we're planning for September time. 2-3 weeks away, driving to Italy and around the country (can't wait!).nnSo this figure on the right is the holiday fund. We've been stashing all the AIS income into it since 1st August last year. This is true payment as opposed to various accounts showing various amounts made. I have $80 here, $95 there, $200 elsewhere. But this is cold hard cash that I (I mean we) can spend :DnnIt reminds me of the achievement so far, and after the work has been put in, about 90% of these earnings are pure AIS as in, I don't touch the sites at all! I do post on a couple of blogs, but I do that through enjoyment first, I don't think of that as work. Am just taking this moment to be proud - watch when it disappears come October! ![]()

Italy… that sounds fabulous
The work will so be worth a trip abroad. Congrats!

Thanks Empress. I think we're both pretty happy to know we can go away and don't have to worry about the big credit card bill when we get back (like we did last time!).nnEven better than whilst we're away our sites will be earning for the next holiday fund already!

Nice! As I said before, there is nothing better than spending money that you know you haven't done an awful lot to earn :)nnAnd putting the totaliser in the side-bar is an interesting thing to do, hmmmn. It probably gives motivation to you and to others!

Hey Gary, yes it definitely reminds me. And seeing the total amount is motivation enough I think. Seeing little bits here and there come in doesn't sound a lot, but when it all adds up to over £1k then well, you can't complain really!nnAnd as you say, haven't done much to earn it. Your true AIS

£1,025.27 in a year, not bad, Is it of all blogging. Or does it include other sites?

I don't really make any money blogging besides the occassional AdSense click. Most of the money made has come from AdSense on product sites, product sales, affiliate income and text link ads.
