PR Update Been and Gone?

I just noticed the Google PR bar on my toolbar for this domain has finally been 'ungreyed' since I set it up back in mid May. Does this mean the PR update is looming and perhaps I'll get my PR back from my old domain? Or does this mean it's been and gone? I've had no change on my other sites so I can't tell. Perhaps it's getting ready (fingers crossed) or perhaps I'm doomed to have no PR on this domain for another few months!nnAnyone had a change?

I don't think that it's come and gone yet. I think it's still coming. And based on the signs I see around the web, it should be sometime this month.

I too see my site (I added my own domain to my wordpress.com blog late may) ungreyed saying 0/10
it was PR4 before domain shift. External and Internal links on Google Webmasters have also changed which I predicted to happen next week (gap of 4 weeks)… Let's prey it's not our new PR till next update.

Hey guys, that's good news then
Seeing the greyed out bar made me wonder, but then again I had a PR4 on the old domain so I couldn't imagine me losing all of it in 3 months!nnLet's just see if it's Google getting ready. Perhaps this is a handy sign in the future?

Yeah I know. The PR bar has been showing Grey on the whole domain since I switched to it in May, however yesterday it changed to white (for the front page and older pages). As I mentioned, perhaps this is the sign that the PR is literally about to happen (I know there's been talk, but there's been talk for a few weeks now!), otherwise why would the grey bar have gone?

I don't actually know how old your website is. 3 months ago I made a website which had for all 3 months PR:None. Today, Exactly after 3 months it is showing 0. Is your site 3 months old ?nMaybe its a standard Google's procedure for giving PR to new sites. Though my new site don't have problems with rankings.

Hi Steve, my site itself dates back to 2004, however it's only been running on the stuffbysarah.net domain since middle of May. The old site, sarahfreelance.co.uk, had a PR of 5 before the last update, which changed to 4, and that's now 301ing to stuffbysarah.net, so I would assume on the impending PR update it should hopefully get back to where it was.

Have you noticed the drop in your rankings or is it the same?nnIf your rankings are not effected, then I think there is nothing to worry about.

Hi Steve, drop in rankings, what in the search engines? I don't tend to look at rankings for this site so wouldn't have anything to compare it with. We'll see what happens when the PR update hits us all :)nnCheers for the comments guys.

Movement from Greyed to PR0 was actually Google Statement that party is over… now start the waiting again…

I'm not necessarily sure on that from what I've been reading elsewhere, plus why would the PR not have transferred over. It appears that Google has simply delayed it whilst they rolled out new upgrades to the Webmaster tools and potentially a new algo for the PR. We'll see

Officially Google is not saying that PR update happened. It was in Aug that instead of giving PRs to new pages, all those were set to 0. Now many sites are seeing changes PR down by 1. Still Recent statement by Matt Cutts (perhaps it was comment on his own blog http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/still-chugging/) says update will take few more weeks.nnWhat a wait? If I had known this I would have kept away from changing domain name (I also did it in May)

I read last night that the PR update is now meant to be underway on Text Ad Search about PageRank update and Link sales.nnThere's nothing much that can be done besides keep a watchful eye on the toolbar

Google search for link:stuffbysarah.net shows very few records. Is it similar on Google Webmaster Tools? the old site should have credited its share of links to the new domain.

According to Webmaster Tools there are 4066 links in to the site. According to link:www.sarahfreelance.co.uk there are 35 links, that's the old domain, so Google's link operator hasn't moved those over. To be honest I've never found the link operator very good. And yes I realise the link operator usually only shows PR3 links or higher (and annoyingly it shows your own site in the results too).nnUntil the last PR update I had a PR5, then it dropped to 4, so I'd imagine that I'd get either 3 or my 4 back when the updates start showing.nnEdit: the webmaster tools aren't overly helpful as I have 400 links from one site as there's a link per page! So I don't know how many unique domains are linking.

4066 is fine.. 8 from google link search (and that too including the internal links) was what I felt odd.. and yes you are true in saying that webmaster tools aren't overly helpful as they also contain links that are "NoFollow" ones as those from del.icio.us and technorati.nnGoogle don't feel like giving other details as the individual page's PR and whether links are nofollow or not..
