Launch of 'One Month'

Gary's come up with a new idea about selling products at incremental pricing and has clearly been busy today as he's now set a site up for it called 1 Month.
What's it about? Well his post on incremental pricing will explain it more but essentially he will offer a product for sale each month. On the first day of the month the product will cost $1, on the second it will cost $2, by the 30th it'll be $30. After the first month I'm guessing it'll then be available at full price only.
It's an interesting idea and right now you can sign up on the new site, ready to hear about the first product that will go on sale on 1st November. I've done this already and I highly recommend you do too, afterall, you may as well know about the products even if you're not necessarily interested in them

I'm not so optimistic about his plan.
1) He'll need to find products that are a good deal at $1, but not overpriced at $30, and still be able to make a profit all 30 days. Can you think of any?
2) For those who actively track the site to scope out new deals, they're going to watch the RSS feed and go to the site only one to two days a month. Traffic spikes ahoy.
There's no incentive. There are no unknowns that would build excitement and impulse buying.
Oli's version is better in that the price goes up after each sale. *That* will create aggressive buying and visitors all-month round.

Brian. Good points well made. But, I don't work to the almighty dollar, so I don't need to turn a profit at all, ever. Like all my online adventures, people can buy if they want to buy, and not buy if they don't want to buy. Easy as 123.
Aggressive buying? visitors all month? - that's not my style

I make my money elsewhere, so projects like 1month are mainly for fun, a bit of a challenge. And to do somehting that I have not seen done before.
If everyone followed the herd, it'd be a very boring place
With that said, I completely understand that some people won't buy into the idea and that's not a problem.
Other people who can see something going on that could be interesting, could be exciting and could benefit them, will…
I suppose I am trying to say that the mark of an entrepreneur is to try things that might crash and burn.

True, but I've never heard of an entrepreneur who's goal isn't to make money.

I suppose most readers don't really know my background over the past 5 years of making money online. Money making does not excite me at all. But that doesn't mean I'm not an entrepreneur, or does it?

I would say there are a lot of entrepreneurs that don't do it for the money. I know I made twice what I make now when I worked in an office job. I think what makes entrepreneurs so great is that spirit to try new things and then to be successful with it is even cooler of course, but everyone measures their success differently.
On the topic of the business model, I have no idea how viable it is, but I think with the right Marketing, it might work. Good luck!

I don't do my AIS work for the money as I have a full time business that covers my living. I don't do that for the money either, providing I can live, cover my bills and outgoings and save a little for a rainy day.
And let's be fair. One of Gary's current sites gives a free ebook away every month (Ideas Festival), so this site is a step up as it's charging at least $1 for the product
