AIS Roundup

As usual, I've not posted a great deal, and seeing my subscriber numbers continue to rise slowly I figured I should put something new up just to prove I'm still here! ;)nnI've not posted last month's earnings simply because I was a bit deflated over the drop after the past few months. We made a little over $200, whilst better than nothing, is a 33% drop from our previous months of $330+. Reasons behind the drop was a slight reduction in AdSense, plus no affiliate or product sales. Annoyingly I did see an affiliate signup in Text Link Ads for the 31st but it's gone again now. I also referred an advertiser on one of my sites to TLA via my referral/advertising link (copied direct from TLA) and I know they signed up as they're advertising with me (elsewhere, this site doesn't sell links Mr. Googlebot
) yet I've received no affiliate earnings from them :(nnStill, we did have over £120 deposited from both mine and Dave's AdSense accounts this month which gave the saves a little boost. The account is on £1,820+ now which is nice to see everytime I log onto my bank accounts! We're still hoping to use some of this for a short holiday away, probably after Christmas. The motivation to work has increased as our budget has had to increase for finding a new house to rent. At present we're looking at £70-100 a month increase (on top of the £90 we've just recently had due to our housemate moving out). This additional increase is how much we can expect to make each month, and have in the bank account each month from places that we hit the threshold on, so once we've moved we'll be hoping to use our AIS earnings towards the rent and then just use any left over for savings towards a holiday. Of course this naturally gives you an extra motivational push as it's the difference between having any money or not. Despite my business earning me a full time wage, I'm still paying back the debt accrued during my start up years which doesn't leave much left over at the end of the month!nnWork on one of our main product sites continues in between client work. This site sells digital images so the products need to be reduced in size and watermarked to prevent theft. Thankfully I learnt about Actions in Photoshop a while ago and this made watermarking 100+ images so much easier! At present the site sells products in their groups so I've increased this price on the live site to £14.99/$30 and on my hidden test pages the individual products are priced at £4.49/$9. I've got a Dynamic Currency Converter running to show prices in both pounds sterling and US dollars. This should give most visitors an idea of the price. I could show Euros too, I'm not sure whether that's needed or not.nnSo on this site most of the scripting is done for the shopping basket. I just need to do the final confirmation page and the PayPal IPN. After a discussion on giving the buyer their purchase I've concluded that at first I'll simply email a download link to the buyer so that I can get the new part up and running, then once I've had time I'll get a buyer's admin area set up to allow them to log in and perhaps give additional offers and an easy way to get in contact with us.nnOnce this site is finally finished I have a well ranked site to makeover plus my Travel Site to get finished. Of course the latter hasn't been touched as we never made it to Italy, but I still want to get it up and running ready for the next destination!nnOh, and for anyone who uses WordPress as a CMS, or maybe even just has pages, then I've developed a new plugin for allowing you to customise the link title attributes for pages displayed using wp_list_pages() - Custom Title Attributes ![]()

I hope you too might have seen traffic increase in last 4 days… as Google have updated back-links in this period.

I don't tend to look at my stats for most sites and I believe half are pretty inaccurate due to the increasing about of bots crawling sites and being counted as visitors. But thanks for letting me know, I'll have a look later when I get the time and see if much has changed
