Good Business Opportunities
January 19, 2008 – 9:40 pm
A good business opportunity doesn't come around often I don't think. I've had a couple of opportunities which I've taken up instantly and they've come through for me. Maybe I'm just a bit too cautious and I could have had a few more on the go had I taken some risks. But at the same time I don't want to set things up, or buy something or into something and not actually do anything with it. In the past I've stumbled across a potentially good idea, had someone build the site, put in a few hours on improvements and we've made over $1k from it. Another was luck that a friend was selling off a couple of sites, I grabbed one, added more products to it and, whilst I've not made a massive amount, I'm in profit on it.
Last week I was also pretty lucky when a fellow AISer offered the chance to make an investment into a new site selling a very cool product (I say this after having a good play with the product and seeing what it produced!). This person I have the upmost respect for, so getting the chance to buy into his idea was a bit of a no-brainer. I'm not going to release details of the product for sale yet until the site is up and ready, but watch this space as there will be an offer on for all my readers ![]()

Sounds intriguing! Might it be a site builder?

Good marketing … I'm not sure if you realize this effort will be an important case study in the proper way to market an opportunity.
My 'spam' folder is full of meilings from one 'Opportunity Broker' after another who has never done anything aside from offer me some (usually) throw-away item and then proceeded to pound me with breathless email after breathless email telling me about the next great limited time offer.
A big waste of both their time and mine. In your case, I 'met' you through guest posts that you did that provided me with useful knowledge, 'squeeze page free'. Since I know you don't involve yourself with schlock, I'll be watching this spot.
Refreshing when it is done right, thanks.

What should be the PR and traffic of a site that you think good for purchasing and earning on it?

Sounds intriguing…

Dave Starr, wow thanks for your comment. I appreciate what you wrote. Sure I've had a few emails similar to you, or seen offers or options to get into something or try something out. I also know my limitations in time, effort and money. But I also know who I trust with my money. Anyway, I'll go more into detail on my launch post.
Jalaj, PR is to be ignored these days I think, unless it's 5+. However just because it isn't doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the site, just that Google maybe penalised the site for text link ads. High traffic doesn't always mean much either, you need traffic that converts. So it's hard to say. Personally I'd say it depends on the site, the subject, the market for it, the rankings and then the traffic. If I was going to buy a site already established I'd want to see the last 6 months income as well as traffic, do my own research before deciding on whether to make an offer to purchase it.
Gary, it is

Very intriguing indeed…give us a clue - is a digital or physical product?!

Welcome back Mr. ODAD
As for the clue, it's digital, and should be launched soon providing there are no complications.

Just to mention that the site is now launched - more details.
