Samsung Q1 Review

Matt's been lucky enough to have a demo of the new Samsung Q1 tablet and has written up his Review on it.

I have to admit I'm still tempted to get a mini laptop or tablet. Just because my own laptop is very heavy and the battery life isn't great either. Something that I could use to remotely access my laptop (within the house of course), so that if I'm upstairs or sitting on the couch I can use something a lot more lightweight.

However I should really start making a profit this year first!

  2. Thanks for the link!

Technically you could use sumit like VNC to control your laptop using the Q1, but I did see lots of screens which will work like what you want, simply connecting to another pc.

What might be an idea is a wireless projector server, this will transmit the screen to another device, wirelessly - but you would need a second screen and then 2 plugs, would be useful for perhaps like a terminal downstairs, but not ideal unless you have a trolley and an extension lead for outside!

  3. Thanks for the further info. I'd use something like terminal services (remote desktop) to connect, oh of course providing I can get the same screen res on a mini laptop as my own (1600*1200 - I guess not!).

I guess I'd only use a mini laptop for reading my feedreader and surfing the various sites I go through. To be honest that's mainly what I do at night or would want to do with it.
