Does It Ever Stop?

Apart from a few days off here and there and my holiday in May, I seem to spend the bulk of my time working. I was hoping to get back to 40 hours a week and the remaining time spent relaxing, out in the garden or out cycling. Well our bikes haven't moved since we got them last Friday due to a variety of reasons, well one reason - me. I cancelled us going out on Sunday on them as I had to go away to Cardiff Monday/Tuesday and needed to get prepared for meetings and ensure various pages were working (which they weren't after all that!). Since I've been back it's been non stop work with a little reading to keep up with sites here and there.
I have 4 websites finishing off this week (thankfully), one of which I dug the quote out for on the train on Monday and saw a date of signature from July 2005
To be fair, at this point, can I say it's the Client that's delayed, then their site disappeared (kinda) and so they've been without a site for almost 3 months. They've finally decided to sit down and get this site finished off, of course in the mean time I have other sites on the go too, also delayed due to clients, so they've all come at once (like buses really). Trouble is they've also changed their mind on a lot of things so now I've having to go through the site and completely change parts which is frustrating as this was one of my underquoted sites, and the longer it goes on the more annoying it gets. To top it off I've had 46 'items' sent through to add to their website which definitely wasn't part of the deal considering they have a custom built CMS to add the items theirselves. Thankfully I can pay someone else to do this whilst I fix their other changes.
After tomorrow I get to spend the weekend planning a new site for internal use and also trying to get a shop site finished off that again has been going since last summer (and under quoted), purely because the client stopped it at first as their bank account got closed down so they would give me the info I needed to proceed. Now they're ready to go they want it finished. It seems like clients don't appreciate their given a window for their work and if they don't have their work done in that time then it overspills onto someone else's window. I do sometimes wonder if some of my clients realise they're not the only one
Yes, yes I know, they pay the money. To be honest I want to spend the money working 5 hours a day on my contract job and having the rest of the time to myself. Can't see it happening but it would be nice.
Okay rant over, back to work I guess.

I don't like it too hot either. Summer is okay as long as it's not muggy…but we tend to get a lot of overcast and muggy days now. It's usually pretty unbearable heat in the home office during the days, so I tend to achieve more workwise in the evenings when it's a bit cooler.
Roll on Autumn…
