London and Meetings

Yesterday we had to go to London for a meeting about a new, quite large, project. A community style website being set up by an existing client of mine with another person. It sounds quite interesting, however because I'm so busy I won't be doing much on it (well that's the plan but I can see me getting drawn in!). I also then visited another client, the one I actually took to court last year. They've very cheekily asked me to do work on the website I set up for them about 3 years ago, bolt on a shopping cart and hook it up to the Barclays ePDQ system. I don't have an issue with the staff there just the owner, so I realise this will help them out. I had a think over how much the work should cost and pretty much doubled it. I figured I may as well get the money back that the guy owes me. It's an easy job really as most of the work is already done. So I went in yesterday to pick up the signed contract and a deposit cheque. I'm not actually starting this job until August time but the money is nice to have right now.

Whilst at this client's he even had the cheek to walk in at one point and ask if I could look at their ADSL connection as it hadn't been working for the morning! I couldn't believe after everything I went through last year with him, he really is such an ignorant person to completely act like nothing happened!! Still, I could have refused the work but figured I'd make some easy money and all payments up front - you think I'll trust him to pay afterwards?!

  2. That sounds great :) I have never shopped for groceries online despite using the internet for just about every other purchase! I have heard Tesco are particularly good - and the delivery fee is very reasonable.

  3. Parents use it all the time. Doesnt bother me as long as food is somewhere ;)

  4. It just got delivered, 15 minutes into the time slot (good timing), no substitutes either so everything we ordered came through. That's the quickest shopping I've done! Take the cost of the alcohol and delivery fee off and it comes to around £50 for food (and 20l of bottled water!). A much better improvement than usual :)
Two thumbs up to Tescos :)

  5. I agree buying online offers better choice and home deliveries means they do all the heavy work. I still visit sainsburys at the bottom of my street (cycle with a carrier bag over each bar) when i can't be bothered to boot up my PC. Found a site which even offers a fiver cashback at Tescos (for first order). The delivery people are always freindly too.

  6. We still went to Sainsburys afterwards to pick up the fruit, veg and eggs. I'm too fussy to let anyone else pick my fruit and salad!
