Weekly Roundup

It's been a long tiring stressful week. To sum it up…
Monday - Tried to set up ADSL with a new provider having received a migration code from the old one. However the old one have now ordered a cancellation on our line (the day after they generated the 30 day code). The old provider deny this, BT Wholesale confirm they've done this so it's still dragging on. Spent most the day on the phone between new and old provider and BT and Ofcom.
Tuesday - Spent most the day sick from stress again, probably brought on from the happenings on Monday. Spent most the day lying down watching TV and trying to work.
Wednesday - My Mum and I went to London shopping. I left the mobile at home with Dave and had a free nonstressed day. It was very very cold however, I'm glad I bought a new coat last Friday as I only brought my summer coat down with me at the end of September (I didn't realise we'd be here in the winter!). We hit Harrods first so that I could get the Christmas teddy bear - he's very cute this year! - http://www.harrods.com. We then went to Covent Garden to look around the craft markets there. I picked up a present for a friend (who made read this so I can't say what!) and my Mum found a figurine that she wanted so I bought that for her. We had a good look around the markets and there is a lot of nice stuff there but I'm not great at buying girly presents especially when it's for Dave's family (sisters, nieces) so I just didn't know what to get. We then went up to Oxford Street and met Martin for lunch, had a very nice dinner in China Town. After that we'd both had enough so looked through a couple of shops and then came home.
Thursday - Spent the day catching up on all of my work, trying to get osCommerce working with Protx (fun), fixing scripts I wrote months ago and the clients have only just gotten around to using them (typical) and still wondering what's going on with our ADSL.
Friday - Again been working all day. Got a fair bit done this time inbetween going over my accounts with my Mum. Seems I'm on course for a bigger turnover and profit this year compared to last however considering the amount both Dave and I work, the figures don't reflect this so this means I need to reassess the time spent on projects along with how much each makes.
I've got a weekend of work ahead of me unfortunately, however I'm close to the end on a few projects so it's quite motivating to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As for our ADSL issues, we just don't know what's going on now, BT Wholesale sound pretty confused when they look at the goings on with our line, our ISP deny any strange goings on and our new ISP are bending over backwards trying to do what they can to get it sorted for us. I just wish someone would sort it out!
We can't go home at present anyhow as we're due up in Battersea on Tuesday for a bit of site update teaching (could be interesting), however I'm quite tempted to just go home after that and if the ADSL goes off for a week after it's cancelled and before it's reconnected then heck I'll spend the week working offline and sorting my garden out before the real winter sets in! Got lots of digging and planting to do already!!
