Mailwasher Pro, 2 for 1 Offer

I just had an email through from Firetrust, the people who make Mailwasher Pro. They're having a 2 for 1 deal on this software. So just $37 (less than £20) for 2 licences.

I use Mailwasher Pro on a daily basis. It's fantastic for blocking spam, but it also means I can check on emails without having to download them. Some emails I'll read but not keep, such as comments on here, afterall, they're on here! I already have almost 1GB of business email, I don't need any more!! Mailwasher Pro allows me to read full emails, see the size of emails, who they're from, whether there are any attachments etc. It also means I can keep an eye on my Mum's email and clear off any junk to save her from doing it (let's face it, I'm sure none of us like our Mums getting 'adult' emails with vulger content!). I do run Spam Assassin on the server too, but that probably only cuts out about 75% of my spam. Mailwasher Pro is well worth the money in my books for one through to many accounts.

  2. Before I switched to Mac I used to use Mailwasher. Fantastic program which saved me a lot of waiting around for hundreds of e-mails to download (usually with large virus attachments). Thesedays I don't get as much spam as I used to, and Apple Mail's junk filter does a good job with those that I do get. However, I hadn't actually realised that MailWasher is also available for Mac, until I followed your link. That's actually good to know - at least if I do get bombarded with spam in future then that's something to consider :)

  3. I've been a fan of Mailwasher since it was only in freebie form.

Besides accurately identifying spam and making it easy to delete before it gets to my inbox, a huge benefit is to allow me to keep tabs on lots of different email addresses without having to manually check each one.

    Essential software!

  4. Great to hear it's for the Mac too. I've been using Mailwasher since I first heard about version 3, 4-5 years ago. I used the free, one account only, version for a couple of years but after a reformat about 3 years ago I went for the new version 5. Best £20 I've ever spent. And you continue to get the upgrades.

I've had over 10 accounts being checked by Mailwasher in the past. I've cut this down now, but it does save time. :D

  5. hey Will, I just dug your comment out of Akismet. Mad considering this is the only blog you were blocked on out of all of mine you've commented on! Still, thankfully, with my own crack down on spam, I spotted you, else you'd have been a goner!!

  6. Well rescued, Sarah! Have you tried Spam Karma 2 as an alternative to Akismet? I find it much better as it gives you more control over the determining factors in how it identifies spam e.g. comments on old posts without any recent comments, comments submitted after only a very brief time after page loading. All good stuff and it doesn't require a key to use it.

  7. I may take a look at some point. My recent work on culling the amount of spam in Akismet has worked pretty well and so I don't have much to check through now, but I'm sure it'll get worse again soon!

  8. I've used Spam Karma 2 and, while it was good, I found that it only picked up what Akismet did, but required more faffing about to get to that point.
