First week of July

Bit late I know, I've got a valid reason - my parents returned on Monday and I got sidetracked!

So, let's go back to last week. The weather finally started to improve and the rain stopped for a short while. On Tuesday however we had thunder storms, hail and a house caught fire from lightening just down the road from us in the village! Wimbledon was a bit washed out from this and I felt sorry for the players who came on and off the court several times throughout the day. However matches were finally caught up on and the Ladies final was worth missing the glorious sun outside (well for all the 2 hours they played!). In the past I've not been such a fan of ladies tennis as it's not usually as eventful as mens, however this match was absolutely worth it.

We headed up to London on Wednesday with Chris, my designer, to see a client about a new site for classic cars. Quite an easy day for me as I avoided their meeting and just worked on a few updates we'd done on another site for them with my contact who works there. After which we had a fantastic lunch in this Italien restaurant, attached to Baker Street tube station (well worth it if you're ever in the area).

This weekend I finally got to spend some time in the garden with the sun out and the rain stopped. I managed to get the grass cut, do all the weeding for my Mum and tidy up a bit before my parents arrived back on Monday. Unfortunately I paid the price on Sunday as my legs ached and my hamstrings still ache now! Still, the place is a lot tidier. I spent Sunday going through my boxed stuff I have here, throwing some old hoarded magazines out and taking a few bits out to take home with me. It's often wierd going through old stuff, you don't want it but can't bring yourself to throw it out. One day I'll have a house big enough to cope with all my rubbish!

And on Monday my parents arrived home from Canada so we're off home in the next day or two, back to our own bed, back to the desk and (more) organised work and back to my own garden!

My Calzone wasn't that fantastic. It tasted a bit like a lump of cheese wrapped in a pizza base, I could barely taste the rest of the filling.

I'd recommend avoiding the Calzone and going for a normal pizza instead.
