Back from Italy

Morning all 
Yes I'm back, unfortunately, from Italy now. Got back on Wednesday but have been sifting through numerous emails whilst trying to get over my jet lag (well that's a lie, I'm just a wee bit tired!).
Rome was great. We had blue sky and sunshine almost every day, and only Sunday was it a little chilly and overcast. I'm not going to go into great detail here as this is what my travel blog is for, once I write up each day and theme the blog! I'll hopefully get this done over the weekend along with processing my 100s of photos too.
However, in a nutshell, Rome was good. We saw all of the sights that we wanted to see, the Vatican museums, St Peter's Square,the Pope (yep he blessed us all on Sunday… I think!), all areas of Ancient Rome including the Colloseum, the Spanish Steps, along with plenty of walking around the whole city and catching sight of other little gems and traditional areas of Rome too. We didn't overeat or drink however. Had a few pizzas (of course) and sampled a couple of wines, although wine seemed quite expensive in the restaurants, strange for a country that produces so much of it.
The hotel was a little out of the way, about half a mile to a mile walk to the Metro each morning and then a few stops from the Vatican, but for the price you couldn't fault it really, although next time around I think we'll aim for somewhere a little closer to the centre.
So it's just a case of getting back into work mode now, although I won't be doing much of that until next Thursday due to other various appointments, off to the Theatre on tuesday with my Mum, just distractions like that going on! At least no one disturbed me for work whilst I was away
