It's easier when you know the subject, but if you want an eBook on an obscure subject which you know nothing about where do you go for your content? I know a few people reading this site have sold eBooks, possibly on subjects they don't know much on. Any pointers? I don't know if people would appreciate me just scouring the web for the various articles and information on Wikepedia and free article sites, or whether I could even sell an eBook with content from these free resources. I'm usually fairly good at rewriting other people's content (I learnt that using book answers for my A'Level homework!) however when it's a subject I don't know then it gets harder possibly and will most likely take a lot longer.nnAny thoughts or suggestions on where I could go?

I figured, for my own reference and an update on what was going on / through my mind I'd note down what I was up to or intending to do over the next few months.nnI have a new site already set up and just needing more content added to it. The information on this site is being written by myself, using a few searches to check on the correct terminology. The site is about Skiing, a passion of mine plus I'm a qualified Austrian instructor, so it gives me a good idea of what to write about. I know the ski season is now over but I'm hoping to either catch the people preparing for next year's season, or alternatively have it up, indexed and running smoothly in time for the new season. Plus as I didn't have the time or money to go skiing this year it's bring back memories as if I had. I've been told (constantly) that I seem to write a lot (can't see it myself) so I figured I may as well put that into practice and see how well my writing skills would fare on subjects I could ramble on about for hours…nnAnother site I have just registered a domain for is another content driven site written by myself, about Lanzarote, the island I went on holiday to. Why Lanzarote? I've been there a fair few times and this time I went with this site already in mind. I have 250+ photos to use on the site, I picked up every excursion leaflet going, as well as the knowledge I already have. I'm hoping if the site is a worthwhile resource it may pick up a few visitors. I'm not expecting floods of them but photos and info on places such as Omar Sharif's old home – Lagomar, the one he gambled away, may bring in a few people who aren't after Lanzarote info but just other info.nnMyself and a couple others have had a business being set up for almost 3 years now. The 3 years is because each company we've been to to do the dropshipping part just keeps failing on us, and until we know we can trust the final company we can't proceed. It's frustrating as the business could work really well and we have a lot of ideas for it but just as we were hoping to go live in June, the company in the running failed to return emails or supply what we needed, so it's back on the back burner unfortunately.nnI have a few spare domains that are fairly useless to me now. They're to do with Cardiff, where I used to live, however the idea for buying them is pointless now as I don't live there now. So I thought I may set up a few blackhat sites on those domains, make a bit of cash off them with adsense and maybe a few affiliate links, and see how long they last. Of course if anyone wants to buy cardiff related domains feel free to contact me before I bring about their end ;) nnI've been wanting to rewrite and improve my photo gallery script, primarily for my own photo gallery, but I've also been wondering if I could monetise it at all. I know Flickr has come about, but looking on their site every user's page looks pretty much the same, or am I missing something? I'd want to offer the opportunity of a selection of premade templates or to edit the CSS yourself. I like the idea of letting people comment on photos however. I was also wondering if I could set up the gallery to allow people to sell their photos on it if they wanted to, via Paypal. It's something that I have to set up anyway, the gallery for myself and the sale part for a client, so it's not like I'll not already have the bulk of the script written, I'd just have to extend it.nnI have at least 5 other sites after these that have domain names ready and registered for. 2 sites for selling eBooks, one content/link driven site, one for templates and another where users create your content for you. I really want to get some better earning sites up and to increase the very little income I currently get off AIS. I want to buy another car this year, something a little bigger than my Smart, as I think I've battered it too much (see My car is ill). I've priced up a few 3 year old cars that I fancy and so I'm looking at £5k or so. So there's my target – £5,000 for the end of the year.nnActually thinking about it that's quite a high target considering I don't even make £50 a month at present! I'll aim for half that from AIS and the rest from the business. So £2,500 for the end of the year from AIS. That's about £350 a month on average for the next 7 months.

Despite Google's current problems, a new interview with Matt Cutt's, a Google software engineer, has been published by Mike Grehan. The interview has a couple of interesting points with regards to SEO and new sites.nnThe "sandbox" is there, but not for every piece of data or site going. Probably make an attempt at a popular subject and you're going to find it harder to bypass it, but aim for smaller niches and you should be good.nnTo get ranked well, high and quickly, get blogged about. Get the bloggers to notice and get those links in. Google's blog spider can come and index a new post on a blog site within minutes of it being posted, this is the beauty of blog software. So with a new site get those bloggers talking about it as soon as possible. The more the better. How else do you think Million Dollar Homepage made it big? ;) nnLink to full article writeup and interview audios: Article

The owner of Jensense – Jennifer Slegg, is starting her own radio slot over on Webmaster Radio today. All about contextual advertising. This week she also has one of the staff of Google Adsense on. Her topics during the interview will includenn

nnIt's on at 7pm BST – UK Time, so anyone running adsense would be wise to tune in.

Whilst looking over the Adsense Ts and Cs the other day looking for some info I came across this point:nn

Google reserves the right to terminate without notice any account that has not generated a sufficient number of valid clicks on Ads or Referral Buttons or valid impressions of Ads (in each case as measured by Google) for a period of two (2) months or more

nnI may be slow on the uptake here. I'll admit I don't have the patience to sit and read long winded things like Ts and Cs so it may have been around a while. Still it's an important point to notice. Most people in the AIS field have an adsense account but those just starting out or, like me, are down to just the occassional click here and there, then this may be a point to note. Question is, if your account is terminated for being too quiet, then you set up a new site, get plenty of traffic and fancy putting up some PPC ads on it, can you reapply? Your account wasn't terminated due to invalid clicks or violation of the rules, just because it wasn't busy.nnOf course this isn't a concern until it happens, but I still thought I'd mention it.
