I decided at Christmas that the best way to extend my desk to allow me to organise my client folders and work a bit better and also clear my desk a little would be to get some shelves built to suit the height of my desk and to provide extra shelving above the desk. At first I asked Paul to ask his step dad who enjoys building and DIY. However after 3 months of waiting I decided to buy some prebuilt ones. My original plan was to get some shelves built to spec. At Christmas I bought a new flatbed copier/scanner/printer, Epson RX425, which is quite large, and so I figured a set of shelves built to fit my desk would be perfect, however I've settled for a set of bog standard shelves at £25 and a thin CD/DVD rack at £20 from Argos. Between them they make the width of my desk (almost) and they'll come in handy at a later date on their own. At least I've managed to clear my desk a lot better and am a lot more organised now. Things look tidy and I work better when I have space.
