Thanks for the suggestion. I have a new laptop coming that I can use for a control computer. I'll try the DL when the laptop arrives and let you know how it went. Thanks for all your help Sarah, you're the best!

Sorry to hear that Eric. The only other option I can think of is to download a copy of the portable version of Firefox from http://www.portableapps.com. First try running it without adding anything to it and see how that runs. Perhaps put it on a pen drive or something. If it has problems on your computer like your standard FF then try running it on a second computer if you can and see how it fares on that.

If it's fine on either, then copy over your profile contents from your installed version to the portable version, and see how that goes. Again, check it on a second computer if yours still has issues.

Then maybe you can determine where the problem is ie. Firefox, extensions or something else on your computer, and possibly narrow down the investigation.

Cheers Will. My back was the result of how I sat at the desk, so that's not been an issue since I've removed all the obstacles from under it.

I've got the option of working too much or stressing too much, so if I work enough the stress will go quicker!

It'd be alright if people were forthcoming with the content and files I need to get things done!

Not much different here in sleepy Charlottesville, Virginia, USA (home of UVA & Thomas Jefferson's Monticello)... University town and EVERYone wants it done before the holiday break!

Only so many hours in the day...

Each day I need to remind myself of my priorities lest I get totally stressed-out. Family first and everything else comes next!

Don't work yourself ill, Sarah! You don't want to get your back started again especially with Christmas just around the corner.

I'd like to think that my long days of long hours were behind me, but I know sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. Just don't forget to eat, drink, and sleep!

I wish it was that simple Sarah. Yes, I tried disabling extensions but it had no effect. I also tried the same thing with my plugins. I actually thought I might have fixed the problem with an update to Java because things ran smoothly for a few hours but then, for whatever reason, it's back to the same problem again. I've also run my Spyware and virus scans and all the usual disk clean up and defrag programs. One thing I didn't mention is that I am on Clearwire wireless broadband but I have good strong signal.

I'll keep plugging away at it. If you think of anything else please let me know.

Hi John, I didn't create the original just fixed a couple of flaws in it. Still, it's a good plugin regardless :)

Hi Jay, my switchboard sends the number through and as we have caller line ID we can see who's calling (unless they withhold the number of course). I wish most of my clients just relied on email but unfortunately quite a few prefer to call, and at least with the switchboard they can have a business number that I can put straight to voicemail when I want to ie. out of hours!

Hi Eric, it sounds like it could be a conflict with an extension. Have you tried disabling all of your extensions and then see if it happens. If it doesn't then re-enable them one by one and keep testing until you can narrow down the culprit.
